Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Brief. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. 1. Who We Are Brief is operated by Onur Ayçiçek, an individual entrepreneur based in Turkey ("we", "us", or "our"). You can reach us at legal@kozmonos.com. 2. Who Can Use Brief You must be at least 16 years old to use Brief. By using the app, you confirm that: You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement You will use Brief only for lawful purposes If you are using Brief on behalf of a company or team, you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms 3. Your Account You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at legal@brief.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account. 4. Free Trial & Subscription Free Plan Brief offers a free tier with limited features. Specific limits (e.g., number of meetings, recording duration) are defined within the app and may change over time. Free Trial If we offer a free trial of Brief Premium, it will be clearly indicated in the app. At the end of the trial period, your account will automatically revert to the free plan unless you choose to subscribe. Premium Subscription Brief Premium is available as a subscription purchased through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. All billing, renewals, and cancellations are managed by Apple or Google under their respective terms. We do not process payments directly. To cancel your subscription, follow the standard cancellation process on your device's app store. Refunds All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or the policies of Apple/Google. 5. Acceptable Use You agree not to use Brief to: Record meetings or conversations without the consent of all participants, where required by applicable law Upload, share, or process any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes third-party rights Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app Use Brief in any way that could damage, overload, or impair our infrastructure Circumvent any usage limits or access controls You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consents from meeting participants before recording. 6. Content You Create Your Ownership You retain full ownership of all content you create using Brief — including your audio recordings, transcriptions, and AI-generated summaries. License to Us By using Brief, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your meeting content to train AI models or for any purpose beyond delivering Brief's features. Content You Export or Share Brief may allow you to export or share transcriptions and summaries. You are solely responsible for any content you choose to share outside the app. Do not share content that contains confidential information of third parties without proper authorization. 7. AI-Generated Content — Disclaimer Brief uses AI to generate transcriptions, summaries, decisions, and action items. You acknowledge that: AI output may contain errors. Transcriptions and summaries are provided for convenience and may not be fully accurate. AI output is not professional advice. Nothing generated by Brief constitutes legal, financial, medical, or any other form of professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it for important decisions. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content. 8. Team & Corporate Accounts If you use Brief with a team or on behalf of an organization: The person who creates the team account ("Admin") is responsible for managing team members and their access The Admin represents that they have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of the organization We are not responsible for disputes between team members or between a team and its organization If a subscription lapses, team members may lose access to shared content 9. Intellectual Property All rights in the Brief app — including its design, code, branding, and underlying technology — are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the app as described herein. 10. Service Availability We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may: Temporarily suspend the service for maintenance or updates Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice Terminate accounts that violate these Terms We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes or planned downtime. 11. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law: Brief is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content or for decisions made based on it 12. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Brief, your content, or your violation of these Terms. 13. Governing Law & Disputes These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of İstanbul, Turkey. If you are using Brief from outside Turkey, local consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction may also apply. 14. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Brief after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. 15.
